California Home and Design Magazine Spring 2017 Issue
INSPIRED BY A LINE IN THE Robert Frost poem “Mending Wall” good fences make good neighbors”—.Jessie Whitesides of Asquared
Studios designed a state-of—the-art winery in St. Helena with earth tones that blend in naturally with the hillside while minimizing visibility in nearby homes. Whitesides worked closely with the owners on the design of the tasting room by exploring the merger of contemporary meets rural aesthetic to create a warm, upscale but unpretentious guest experience.

Design Love Fest

Following the spa, we hopped in the car and went to mending wall winery which we loved. the people are super sweet and all of their wine was excellent. all of the wineries we went to are by appointment only so be sure to reserve if you want to visit. some of the vineyards get licensed for a certain number of tastings per week so they require appointments to keep track. we could have spent a couple of hours just hanging out and drinking wine (and eating cheese!), it was very relaxed.

2014 Mending Wall Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)
90+
2017-2037
It is still showing some tannin and a slightly closed personality, but the wine has an impressively saturated ruby/purple color, and a burgeoning nose of blackcurrants, cedar wood, licorice and loamy soil undertones. The abundant fruit continues on the attack and midpalate, with the wine medium to full-bodied and somewhat structured. Give it another year or so of bottle age and drink it over the following 15-20.

2014 Mending Wall Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)
93 points
2017 – 2024
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big step up from the 2013. Boisterous, rich and ample, the 2014 exudes raciness from start to finish. Dark red and purplish stone fruits, mocha, spice, chocolate and new French oak give the wine its luscious, exotic personality. The 2014 is a striking wine from Mending Wall.
